In depth

Verdict

Private Be should have the class to take this contest, at the main expense of Royal Paradise and Arctic Ghost. Phillip Hobbs has his stable in better form at present after some well-documented coughing issues, and reverting back to fences after a run in the Trophy Hurdle at Newbury, his gelding can take this contest. He wasn't beaten far behind Opera Mundi on his chase debut and with ground conditions to suit today, he gets the confident vote. Letham Air is very slow and would prefer better ground, whilst Arctic Ghost should build on his debut over fences and has place claims. Of more interest is Royal Paradise who battled on well to finish a runner-up last time out and looks the one to lay it down to the selection. However Private Be looks the one with most scope for improvement and he gets the confident selection.
