    Verdict

Nice Try, Lucifer Blue and Lord Ryeford are three against the field in a wide open handicap chase and the narrow vote is given to Nice Try. The selection is well weighted on his best form, has conditions to suit and with his yard in form he looks a value bet. Lucifer Blue rates the main danger on his best form but his best efforts have come on a much faster surface and he looks opposable on that basis. Lord Ryeford goes well fresh and he has been given a break since his latest start so he could go well at a price. Almaydan goes on any ground and is another with place claims but he disappointed for no apparent reason last time out. Pretty Star is from a yard in form but has shown little of late so he can not be put forward with much confidence. Of the others, Massini Sunset is in form but is stepping up in grade and with this in mind for the winner we are happy to return to Nice Try who looks a value bet in an open affair.
