Verdict

If dual hurdles winner THOUSAND TEARS can repeat his close second to Busselton in a Roscommon maiden last month he may have too much pace for the jumpers Midnight Run and San Salvador. The former fell in the Grade 1 Drinmore Novices' Chase at Fairyhouse last November when still in contention while his stablemate was clear when falling at the last in a Grade 3 novices' hurdle at Tipperary in October and may have been feeling the effects when running poorly a month later. Both are likely to be warming up for Galway as is Born By The Sea, who won a lucrative handicap chase there last summer. Thermoscope, a son of Galileo who cost €100,000 as a yearling, showed a bit of potential on his belated debut at Dundalk in January.
