Big Challenge won this last year when trained by James McCauley but was in much better form than now. His former handler has three entries comfortably headed in the ratings by Mischief Star, who completed a double at this level in May but has been disappointing the last twice. Eastern Racer also represents the yard and Colin Keane was on board when the veteran just failed to concede 12lb to Rosie Rock in a Killarney claimer last week. IDEAL PAL pops up every now and then and has a course and distance success to his credit. He won over hurdles in April and has his first start at this level so gets the nod. Denis Hogan knows what it takes to win these claimers and Sevenal, a dual winner for the Gosden yard, has his first start on the Flat for his new handler after a couple of moderate runs over timber.
