Verdict

Record Breaker could be the answer to this trappy handicap and he is put forward to get the better of Gordonsville and Acropolis. The selection has a number of things in his favour here; he is progressive and in form, and he also has a good attitude for a battle. He goes on the ground and he looks the one they all have to beat. Gordonsville was a little unlucky last time in a race won by Tifernati at Hamilton and on the evidence of that effort he should be winning races before too long. Acropolis was far from disgraced at Haydock last time in third behind Gee Dee Nen and the yard are in decent form; the drop in trip will also not be a problem so he is respected. Birkside has gone off the boil and is best watched, so we will stick with Record Breaker who can take the gold medal for Mark Johnston.
