In depth

Verdict

Theatrical Moment will be all the rage in the finale, and should justify strong support, with The Pious Prince and Evelith Echo the two to chase him home. Theatrical Moment was denied the chance to make it a four-timer when the final race at Aintree was abandoned last Saturday, but looks all set to gain compensation here. Very highly rated by Alan Swinbank who reckons that the the four-year-old is good enough to land a Listed race on the Flat this summer, he should have too much class for his rivals under conditions that suit. He actually gets weight off the older Len Lungo challenger The Pious Prince, an all-the-way winner at Musselburgh who is likely to set the race up for the selection. Evelith Echo is going the right way and did nothing wrong at Kempton, but has to find a few pound to cause a shock, while of the remainder, Quys Law has won over the course-and-distance, and the booking of Timmy Murphy catches the eye for one of the Charlton duo Castletown Boy. On form there can only be one winner, and that is Theatrical Moment.
