Nine De Sivola can step up on his Fairyhouse run to oblige, with Rambling Minster, Parson's Legacy, Napolitain and Idle Talk all to be considered. After looking at the entries earlier this week, we were very keen on the chance of Character Building who was unlucky to come off second best to Butler's Cabin in the four-miler at Cheltenham. However, the prospect of drying ground has forced trainer John Quinn to reconsider his options, and it unlikely that the seven-year-old will now run. If he does, then we will revert to him as the selection, but in his intended absence we shall rely on Nine De Sivola, who by coincidence also played second fiddle to Butler's Cabin on his latest outing, this time in the Irish National at Fairyhouse. Lightly weighted and with time on his side, Ferdy Murphy's six-year-old, also second in the Eider, can outstay them all, including last year's winner Run For Paddy, whose stable is not in the best of form at present. A bigger danger may well be Rambling Minster who never really recovered from a mistake at the first when ninth behind the selection's stablemate Joes Edge at Cheltenham. He will like the ground and should be suited by the trip. Parson's Legacy posted a creditable second in the Kim Muir so is worth a mention along with Napolitain who is surely better than his recent form-figures suggest. Idle Talk unseated at the 20th in the John Smith's Grand National, the third time in succession that he failed to complete. He has plenty of ability though, and a clear round would see him go close despite his big weight. Nine De Sivola has plenty going for him though, and makes most appeal.
