Strawberry Patch is taken to follow up his recent win at the expense of Pays d'Amour, College Maid and Balakiref. Most of these, useful as they are on their respective day, are finding things hard at present, and it may be that the recent Newbury success of Strawberry Patch will prove good enough. Linda Perratt's five-year-old gained his first success in three years when getting the better of Brave Burt in a close finish at Newbury, and this well handicapped individual, whose target is the Ayr Silver Cup, can help his cause here with another victory. Stablemate Pays d'Amour has some placed form to his credit but ran badly at Hamilton last time, while College Maid finally gets the cut in the ground that she needs. Balakiref is a course winner and he would be a danger on his best form, but we are happy to side with Strawberry Patch.
