Verdict
Manaar is taken to go one better here at the expense of Obrigado, Stoic Leader and Winning Venture. Jeremy Noseda's four-year-old has improved for the step up to seven furlongs this season, posting two good efforts at Ascot on his latest couple of outings. Seventh in a big field at the Royal meeting, he returned to the Berkshire track 11 days ago to run True Night to a neck after challenging in the centre of the track. He is starting to get a bit of respite from the handicapper and looks ready to strike. Obrigado was well behind the selection the time before last and surely has a mountain to climb to make up the leeway, while Winning Venture ran fairly well at Doncaster but is fully exposed. A bigger danger may be Stoic Leader who may well have beaten Tony Tie here eight days ago if he had not hung to the left in the closing stages. A similar effort can see him go close, but Manaar has that bit of class and is the pick.
