Hardly the ideal 'getting-out stakes' as punters face another competitive hurdle. Bob Mahler finally got off the mark the last day but does seem ultra-quirky and it will be fascinating to see how he reacts to this large field of seasoned handicappers. Chapel Stile is progressing nicely under the typically patient handling of Nicky Richards but has gone up 16lb for his last two victories. He remains of real interest all the same. Jack Devine is worth a second look on handicap bow off a workable mark and Cloth Cap is open to improvement too. Jockey bookings would indicate that Board Of Trade is the preferred of the King pair but FORGETTHESMALLTALK has only had three runs this term, has revealed a very decent level of ability in each and should continue to improve after only five starts over timber.
