DARIUS DES BOIS (NAP) created a good impression on his first start since wind surgery when running out the authoritative winner of a Newbury handicap and is taken to follow up despite the harsh-looking imposition of an 8lb rise from the assessor. That victory represented a much-improved level of performance and he may well have plenty more to offer after just four starts over timber. Kerry Lee enjoyed a good winner at Cheltenham during the week and the progressive Sir Will should give a good account for the yard here despite joint-topweight after a decisive Ascot win last time. He stays this trip well. Spider's Bite also appeals as one on an upward curve but Silent Steps rates the main danger off an attractive mark as she reverts to hurdles for Paul Nicholls.
