Hardstone won this last year off a higher mark but would probably prefer faster going. Trendsetter finished third last term but reversed running when scoring at Carlisle last time while Nietzsche and PROJECT BLUEBOOK both won at Catterick last month. The former should go well again but John Quinn’s charge is just preferred as he also scored in soft ground at Beverley earlier this season and an apprentice’s allowance negates most of a rise in the weights for his latest success. Classic Villager was progressive last year but has not raced since May and Wor Lass was still beaten a long way when runner-up at Carlisle last time. Mukhayyam is usually thereabouts without winning and Hillgrove Angel was due to run here yesterday.
