Mount Tahan and Explosive Power are both upped in class after winning their latest starts but the latter’s stablemate London Protocol was placed in Listed company in France last month. Glengarry and Ballymore Castle suffered narrow-margin defeats last time at Carlisle and Haydock respectively but the latter’s stable companion Tatlisu won last year’s Silver Cup over 6f here off a higher mark. War Glory and Gurkha Friend have been thereabouts in subsequent starts since winning back in July but Ghalib and THAT IS THE SPIRIT (NAP) both drop down in class today. The former still looks too high in the weights but David O’Meara’s charge won off a much higher mark in soft ground at Haydock last year and may well return to form under his optimum conditions.
