    Verdict

A cracking little contest where only Caught Out and Millagros appear to be up against it in this company. Which goes some way to narrowing down a selection for this decent little prize. And the unexposed Majestic Horizon edges the vote over Makhlab and Babonada today. The selection showed a good turn of foot on his only start this season and impressed with his attitude in overhauling the well-regarded Chatifa and Sri Angkasa over a mile at Newmarket. The Marju colt has been given plenty of time to come into himself after that performance and, in keeping with the Godolphin policy, he has been kept back for a reasonable opening. The three-year-old will be expected to expand upon his profile and is unlikely to be found wanting for fitness despite 87 days away from competitive action. Makhlab is the logical alternative and is better than his finishing position in the Irish 2,000 Guineas would suggest. However, he has an even longer absence to overcome and may now be vulnerable to the a lesser exposed type, such as Majestic Horizon.
