    Verdict

Geoff Wragg's newcomer Speedbird is of obvious interest as she comes from the same family as the high-class filly Rose Gypsy, but the Abington place handler has yet to strike with a juvenile this term, so preference is for another debutante Epaminondas, who is a half-brother to a juvenile winner in the States. Richard Hannon has picked up over ¿750,000 win and place money with his juveniles and while the magical million might be out of reach, this son of Miswaki can edge him closer. Charlie Bear hasn't set the world alight in his two runs to date and his future looks to lie in handicaps, while a similar comment also applies to Texas Gold's half-brother Choristar. Fiddle Me Blue showed promise on her debut at Haydock, but that was on soft ground and it remains to be seen how she will cope with this faster surface. However, Epaminondas doesn't face a difficult task here and she is taken to get off the mark at the first attempt.
