A dire handicap in all senses of the word and the shortlist includes Rare Coincidence, Danzatrice, Culcabock and Kristiansand and our selection is for Danzatrice. Backers of Chris Thornton's filly almost tore their tickets up when she misbehaved from the gate but the finish to her recent run at Musselburgh was adequate enough and there should not be too many reservations about her ability to step up in trip. Kristiansand is a long losing run of almost three years and while he looks to have a small race in him, it is notable that Paul Hanagan has been booked to race elsewhere. Hanagan's services are always noted and he will partner Culcabock for Lucinda Russell. Rated off a platers mark of 41 on the level, the hurdler seems to handle any surface and is a far from forlorn hope in a desperately weak race. Rare Coincidence won over 1m6f but still has a couple of questions to answer with regard to stamina. He seems to prefer a chance to front run and it would be no surprise to see these tactics employed again. Keshya has shown little since returning from absence although as a rare visitor to Ayr from the Nick Littmoden stable - any market confidence should be noted. Danzatrice looks open to more improvement than most and she secures the nomination.
