Verdict

MCGOWAN’S PASS is penalised for winning a bumper in testing ground at Newcastle a fortnight ago but looked to win with a bit in hand and there should be more to come from him. He’s giving plenty of weight to the younger Rooster Spirit, a close-up third here last month, while Indian Harbour looks a likely improver after a modest debut at Catterick. Up Helly Aa King is a half-brother to winners over hurdles and fences and may prove best of the newcomers ahead of Calix Delafayette and Bonchester.
