PISTOL PARK continued his good progress over fences with an eight length success at Newcastle last month. He’s fancied to make another bold bid despite a further 5lb rise and is preferred to Chidswell. The latter bids for a hat-trick having won a couple of novice handicaps including over 2m4f here recently and makes more appeal than Morning Royalty, who returns to the larger obstacles for the first time since placing at Haydock in December. Imjoeking and Trust Thomas are harder to fancy in their current form.
Pistol Park (FR) 8-13fav (11-12) Jumped well, tracked leader, led going well 4 out, clear when shaken up before 2 out, easily, won at Newcastle 2m hcp (3) hvy in Feb beating Vengeur De Guye (11-5) by 8l, 4 ran.
Imjoeking (IRE) 12-1 (11-11) Mid-division, in rear after 4th, weakened from 5 out, 7th of 8, 23 1/4l behind Ubaltique (11-6) at Haydock 2m hcp (3) sft in Jan.
Trust Thomas 11-2 (11-10) Close up on outside, effort 2 out, soon ridden and one pace, no impression in 4th approaching last, 4th of 5, 10 1/4l behind Las Tunas (10-0) at Ayr 2m hcp (4) sft in Feb.
Morning Royalty (IRE) 3-1 (12-0) Raced keenly, held up 4th, headway into 2nd at 6th, pushed along and one pace before 2 out, no chance with easy winner, 2nd of 4, 8l behind Raise A Spark (11-11) at Carlisle 2m 3f hcp (4) hvy in Mar.
Chidswell (IRE) 6-4fav (11-4) Made all, ridden before last, kept on, won at Ayr 2m 4f hcp (3) hvy in Feb beating Angus Milan (11-6) by 3 3/4l, 4 ran.
