Takingrisks won a novices’ handicap at Kelso recently but this looks a tougher assignment. Double Whammy lived up to his name when ending last season with a double but returns to action off an 11lb higher mark and Courtown Oscar is upped in class back over fences after scoring over hurdles at Hereford in January. NO NO MAC (NAP) has now won three of his last five starts over fences having returned a cosy winner over 2m4f here last month. Ground and trip are not a problem and he can come out best once again.
No No Mac (IRE) 7-1 (11-4) Led, joined 10th, headed before 5 out, outpaced by front pair before next, rallied to regain lead last, ridden and stayed on well flat, won at Ayr 2m 4f hcp (3) sft in Feb beating Master Ruffit (11-0) by 3 1/2l, 5 ran.
Double Whammy 9-2 (11-10) Held up behind, mistake 15th, headway 5 out, tracked leaders next, challenged going well 2 out, led approaching last, soon clear, pushed out, comfortably, won at Perth 3m 7f hcp (3) gd in Apr beating Presented (11-3) by 8l, 9 ran.
Takingrisks (IRE) 11-10fav (11-8) Tracked leader in 3rd, went 2nd before 7th, led run-in, kept on, won at Kelso 2m 6f hcp (3) hvy in Feb beating Spanish Fleet (11-2) by 2 1/2l, 4 ran.
Silver Tassie (IRE) 16-1 (11-6) In rear, mistake 6th, blundered and unseated rider 7th, at Catterick 3m 1f hcp (3) sft in Feb.
Courtown Oscar (IRE) 8-1 (11-12) Led after 1st, headed 4th, led before 2 out, hard pressed, driven flat, found extra final 50 yards, won at Hereford 3m 2f hcp (4) hvy in Jan beating Bryden Boy (12-0) by 1/2l, 12 ran.
