        Verdict

        MICA MIKA completed a double in the spring and has continued to perform with credit, including in a Class 2 handicap at Doncaster. He has a big weight here but Jack Garritty's claim is a plus and he can return to winning ways. Archie's Advice ran such a good race at Hamilton last month that he was installed as favourite at Pontefract but he ran a shocker on ground that may have been too quick. First Sitting found Class 2 company too hot at York but had been in good form earlier and the softer ground is in his favour. Corton Lad is versatile as to ground conditions and his latest success over today's course and distance was his sixth career victory.
