Verdict

In an attempt to get another win under his belt, Richard Fahey turns to a claimer with FLYING STATESMAN, who has an outstanding chance. The Johannesburg gelding was last seen taking on the mighty Canford Cliffs at Royal Ascot, and he should be suited by this step up in trip and weaker company, for what really ought to be a very comfortable success. Kashimin has not scored since his debut three years ago but he has shown enough in this grade to suggest that he can be the one to chase home the selection. Course and distance scorer Stellite and Island Chief look capable of joining battle for the minors, but Flying Statesman can outclass them all.
