    Verdict

Jimwil is taken to land this maiden at the main expense of Snow Bay. The selection hails from the in-form yard of Michael Dods and has shown improvement in three runs to date. All his form so far is on fast ground, and of course he has to prove he handles this softer surface, but his grandsire Hector Protector went well on soft ground, so if pedigree is anything to go by he has every chance over a trip that looks ideal at present. Snow Bay has already proved himself on good to soft and Brian Smart's colt was not far away in a Newcastle maiden last time. That looks decent enough form in context, so he is very much respected. Hameildaeme is tried at 6f for the first time and might be able to find a bit more on ground she should handle, while Dougie Peel needs to settle much better after throwing away his chance in the preliminaries at Ripon back in April. Bella's Story should certainly act on the ground and can show improvement for her c&d debut now the rains have come, but preference here is for Jimwil.
