A typical Ascot cavalry charge and it might just be worth giving another shot to WAFFLE despite the fact that he has not entered the winner's circle since his racecourse debut back in the spring of 2008. However, that doesn't begin to explain the number of good races he's run in these large-field handicaps, not least when runner-up to Dandy Boy here in the Wokingham Stakes last time. Fran Berry comes over for the ride again and he rates a strong each-way bet and could just get his head in front if things drop right. Fellow northern raiders, Bosun Breese and Hazelrigg arrive in fine form and are highly respected whilst Richard Hughes is a fascinating booking for Desert Law, talented at best but hard to fathom so far this season. Taajub and Zero Money are also noteworthy.
