PLEASANT DAY is the pick of this bunch though Astonishment and Guest Book possess plenty to ponder over. The Meehan team seem to have their juveniles in good order at the moment and the Noverre gelding ran well at Doncaster earlier in the month when second to Audacity Of Hope. Farmer Giles (third) reopposes on this occasion but we are confident the form can be upheld. Astonishment has confirmed his initial promise in maidens to score in two nurseries. A 5lb rise is fair given the apparent ease of his latest victory. Guest Book won an egg and spoon race at Chepstow in some style. Having impressed on debut despite some greenness it seems the penny has finally dropped. Bahamian Music seems to act on fast ground in spite of her pedigree. The winner of the Doncaster nursery that she finished fourth in went on to win again at Pontefract. The Starboard Bow won at 20/1 on debut though has struggled to graduate from victory in that Yarmouth maiden. Desert Auction acts on this surface though it will be a tough task to give weight all around. Keen Bidder has been beaten in lesser grade though off 7st12lbs, he should not be taken lightly. Pleasant Day is taken to perform.
