RECORD BREAKER can prove a tough nut to crack in the opener though Waldvogel and Unleashed are sure to have their supporters. Mark Johnston's inmate was far from disgraced in the Mallard Stakes at Doncaster and back over a trip that suits, he is unlikely to be concerned by the strong likelihood of very fast conditions. Waldvogel was a Group 3 performer in Germany. Owned by Craig Bennett of Purple Moon fame, he hasn't shown a great deal in this country but Kieren Fallon will ensure maximum effort from the saddle. Unleashed is yet to win on the turf. That said, much of his previous racing has been at higher grade than this. Dansili Dancer was fourth in this race last term though the going was notably softer. Australia Day gets two miles over hurdles though struggles to get further than 1m2f on the flat. Chiberta King is an interesting three-year-old in the context of this race. He was arguably unlucky to run into the progressive Polly's Mark in the Shergar Cup meeting and he could be capable of further improvement still. Storyland put up a game effort at Newmarket last week and if in the same mood, he has to be best of the rest in spite of the handicapper's heavy hand. Night Crescendo was held at Doncaster and is another who could need dropping down the weights. Record Breaker looks best placed to prosper.
