      Verdict

      Table Mountain showed major improvement over track and trip two weeks ago but is 5lb out of the handicap. Solo Saxophone has been a reformed character back on the Flat this year but has been raised a further 10lb and may struggle to confirm York running with the improving Young Merlin. Cosmelli beat SLEEPING LION at Newcastle but is an all-weather specialist and, despite worse terms, James Fanshawe’s stayer could reverse the form here given he found only one too good in this 12 months ago. Scaramanga is still a maiden on the level though has place claims again while Speedo Boy would have a chance on his best form.
