American Wesley Ward has few peers when it comes to preparing juvenile sprinters and has won this twice in the last eight years. He is double-handed this year and John Velazquez, who rode his 2009 winner Strike The Tiger, may have the plum mount in ELIZABETH DARCY as she beat C J S Suzie Byu more easily on debut than Nootka Sound did earlier at Keeneland. It’s difficult to know what the dirt-bred Declarationofpeace achieved when easily landing the odds at Dundalk while Sound And Silence only beat one home in the National Stakes last month having won earlier at Newmarket. Stable companion Roussel did well to overcome inexperience and make a winning start at Leicester, however, while Corinthia Knight should improve for a first run on Turf here last month. Another Batt showed plenty of dash when getting off the mark at Ripon but this is obviously a big step up. Dragons Tail and Dahik were also easy winners last time so may be the pick of the remainder, though Jim Crowley prefers the once-raced Mokaatil to the latter.
