REDFORD looks capable of running a big race here and is selected accordingly ahead of the well touted Genki, Jimmy Styles and Kaldoun Kingdom. Now in the care of Dandy Nicholls having previously been trained by Michael Bell, our pick ran his best race of the season when chasing home Prime Defender in a conditions race last time. He returns to handicap company with his mark unchanged at 102, 9lbs higher than his sole handicap success, but whilst his winning efforts have been over further he's long appealed as the type to be suited by a big field, strongly run six furlong handicap such as this and he can defy the mark with Jamie Spencer theoretically his perfect partner. Redford gets the each-way vote ahead of Genki. Roger Charlton's gelding ran an encouraging race on his return when behind Hawkeyethenoo and the form of that contest has worked out well. This dual course and distance winner returns to the track off the same mark and looks sure to go well with conditions to suit. Kaldoun Kingdom ran a grand race in a conditions event last time over what is now an inadequate five furlongs and this return to handicap company can see him go well off a mark that appears fair. The concern with him would be quick ground as he wants a bit of cut and for that reason he's narrowly opposed with rain unlikely. Jimmy Styles is considered for Clive Cox having always been well thought of. He's only 5lbs higher than when landing the Ayr Gold Cup last term and will find this more suitable than the pattern races he's taken in so far this term; Dettori seems to get on well with the six-year-old and a bold show is likely. Noverre To Go is a course and distance winner who arrives in top form but this is tough under a penalty whilst Laddies Poker Two looks well treated on her course and distance win but that was back in 2008 and she's not seen a track since later that year. Sohraab disappointed last time and Edge Closer is weighted to his best whereas Medicean Man and Gallagher are probably capable of better but Redford makes marginally the most appeal.
