In one of the most difficult to solve races of the meeting AL KHAALEJ gets the each-way vote to beat Day Of The Eagle, with Himalya, Bangalore Gold and Flipando others worthy of note. Our selection hasn't been seen out since taking third at Meydan in February but he's won after a longer absence before so fitness isn't considered an issue. It's fair to assume he's had some problems having only raced 13 times as a now six-year-old but if he can reproduce his form from 2008, when a find second over course and distance, then there could be a big prize in him off this rating of 100; runs in Dubai this winter suggested he's on the way back and perhaps he can get up close home. Day Of The Eagle has progressed since being gelded following his sole win as a three-year-old and it seems to have worked wonders as he's unbeaten in two starts this term. Despite the fact he's now 20lbs higher than when beginning this winning spree there are few better than Luca Cumani when it comes to getting the most out of older handicappers and there could be more to come. Frankie Dettori's booking aboard Bangalore Gold means he's sure to attract support; he's got claims on a valuable handicap win in Ireland last time and that experience will stand him in good stead. Flipando came out best in a bunched finish last time but as a result the handicapper hasn't been too harsh with a 4lb rise; David Barron's horse has plenty of experience in races like this and has been in grand form all year whilst he remains fairly treated on the pick of his form, however it must be noted that whilst he's shown speed enough to win over six and the stamina to oblige over nine he's not yet won over seven furlongs in 14 attempts over it. Himalya hasn't won again since winning his maiden as a juvenile but he did go well when fourth in the Coventry Stakes here that year and looked a shade unfortunate at Newmarket last time. That was over six, as was his win, but he's bred to get this trip and shaped as though he would last time; the 3lb rise he incurred that day just puts us off. Dubai Dynamo might be overpriced as he represents unfashionable connections. He won well last time with a strong late run and may remain well enough treated up just 5lbs; Hayley Turner was on board last time and returns to ride. Crown Choice is closely matched with Ruth Carr's runner and did well to win at Sandown last time, earning a penalty, and as all four of his career wins have come over this trip he's not without hope. Brae Hill beat Dance And Dance last time and again there's little between them on revised terms although our feeling is the former will frank that form, albeit in defeat, with Al Khaleej the token call to take home top honours.
