Verdict

LILLIE LANGTRY can reverse Irish Guineas form with Music Show and Anna Salai by landing the feature contest; Jacqueline Quest would be a popular winner and along with Lady Of The Desert cannot be ruled out with total confidence. It could be a good day for Ballydoyle if this filly can find the expected improvement from her seasonal reappearance when just in behind both Music Show and Anna Salai. All of the yards runners have been improving for the run this term and this daughter of Danehill Dancer showed as a juvenile that she's smart and will relish these conditions. Music Show took third in that contest but had to make her challenge from a wide position and could reverse form with Godolphin's Anna Salai, who very much had the run of the race when going down narrowly in second. Prior to that Music Show had caught the eye when behind Jacqueline Quest in the English version having been completely undone by the draw and we expect her to reverse both pieces of form. Jacqueline Quest was demoted having past the post in front at Newmarket but that was the correct decision and she's surely flattered by the run having been eight lengths behind Music Show in the Nell Gwynn. That said, the form of the 2000 Guineas has been franked by promoted winner Special Duty and it will be fascinating to see if Jacqueline Quest can confirm it by running well here with ground conditions to suit. Lady Of The Desert might be the value in the race at similar odds to Jacqueline Quest as everything went against her in the French edition and she confirmed that day that a mile is within her compass. Brian Meehan's filly was sent off favourite for the Cheveley Park last term after showing abundant promise throughout her juvenile season and the indications are that there are more prizes to be won with her now turned three. She's expected to reverse form with Puff from their meeting at Newbury; that was over seven furlongs and she isn't bred to get a yard further than that distance. Gile Na Greine is a potentially big price if able to leave behind her lamentable run at the Curragh; she was close in behind Jacqueline Quest at Newmarket and had a much less comfortable passage throughout the race, but perhaps she needs cut to operate at her best despite being a full sister to Cuis Ghaire who had no problem racing here on quick ground. Tabassum has very little to find with Music Show on juvenile form and the fact she won first time out last year suggests there'll be no excuse with regards her fitness on this sole start of 2009; she was sent off odds-on for the Rockfel Stakes having looked potentially very special in two starts prior to that and she can surely only improve for turning three and stepping up to a mile. Sent From Heaven is another to test the Guineas form but like Cecil's filly she may prove flattered by her proximity to the winner and has a bit to find although the yard seem to be entering into form, but we're happy to take Lillie Langtry to find some improvement and win for Ireland.
