There have only been two Irish-trained winners of this since the turn of the century with the big Newmarket stables usually holding sway. A low draw can also be a disadvantage which may count against the fancied Aerion Power, who is on a four-time but has got stall one. Perotto stayed the 7f at Goodwood but another furlong may be beyond him and Siam Fox is also penalised. RAADOBARG was always travelling best when completing a hat-trick at Haydock last month ahead of several in-form rivals. He’s gone up a massive 11lb but looks one capable of earning some black type before the year is out and his yard won this 12 months ago. Roger Varian could also have each-way prospects with the unexposed Dinoo while Qaader was highly tried as a juvenile and has come back strongly this year, beating Legal Attack and Royal Scimitar at Goodwood. Dubai Honour could also go well if fully tuned given he had no luck in-running when making his handicap debut at York in the autumn and he’s been gelded since. Royal Pleasure is another who could figure if handling the switch of surface while Mithras won a strong handicap at Newbury before failing to handle the step up to Listed company. Air To Air is definitely improving but maybe not enough to defy an 8lb rise and big step up in grade.
