Dubai Fountain was a smart two-year-old and made a winning reappearance in the Cheshire Oaks, when Nicest was only third, but she pulled much too hard in the Oaks and finished well behind Divinely, who ran on into third. The Ballydoyle filly was still beaten almost 18 lengths by the impressive Snowfall, however, which makes NOON STAR’s second to that one in the Musidora look a good effort. Sir Michael Stoute’s filly missed Epsom due to a slight setback but that may prove a blessing in disguise. Eshaada beat Gloria Mundi, Aristia and Twisted Reality in the Fillies’ Trial at Newbury to remain unbeaten but the last-named was an eye-catcher that day having missed the break and she is sure to be suited by this step up in distance. Annerville won a Leopardstown maiden in taking fashion but this is a big step up in class.
