Crimson Fern can confirm her superiority over Strike Up The Band but may have something to fear from Mac Gille Eoin and Siren's Gift. It was hard not to be impressed with the way that Malcolm Saunders' filly travelled and quickened at Sandown and an 8lb rise may not be enough to prevent her from scoring again. The veteran trainer has handled some fast fillies in his time and he looks to have another one on his hands here in this sister to Holbeck Ghyll. Strike Up The Band may prove more effective at this track than Sandown as he has plenty of early speed and he has to be given a chance on the revised terms. Siren's Gift and Mac Gille Eoin bumped into each other over six furlongs at Windsor last time where they were separated by a nose. Siren's Git has a better record at this trip and makes the most appeal of the pair today. Matsunosuke has been highly tried of late and is capable of popping up but may still be a shade high in the weights and we're happy to be siding with Crimson Fern.
