Whenever can lower the colours of Sanbuch and Bogside Theatre. The selection may have missed out on a tilt at the Northumberland Plate but he can provide his National Hunt orientated trainer with ample compensation by landing this prize. He showed progressive form last season when stepped up in trip, beating Bukit Tinggi in a maiden before landing a handicap at Doncaster. He was given plenty to do on his reappearance at Sandown over a mile six but finished well and will relish his first crack at two miles. Sanbuch is another potential improver at this longer trip and should go well despite having to concede weight all round. There was plenty to like about his reappearance third to Ajaan in May and he's a must for any short-list. Bogside Theatre has shown her best form with cut so any drying of the ground would be a concern but she had Akarem, Gee Dee Nen and Tilt behind at Newcastle and may well be able to confirm the places if she gets her optimum conditions. Metaphoric and Classic Punch are others worthy of mention with the latter of particular interest given he's a half-brother to Persian Punch but Whenever makes plenty of appeal at the foot of the weights and is selected.
