      Verdict

COLD CASE never stopped improving in his first season and signed off by landing the Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar with something to spare. He looks more than capable of handling this step up in grade. He was six lengths ahead of the filly Magical Sunset at Doncaster in the autumn with the latter starting favourite for the Fred Darling at Newbury 11 days ago. Marbaan won the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood last summer and Mischief Magic landed the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint Turf in November. Bradsell won the Coventry Stakes at the Royal meeting here last June while Trillium won the Flying Childers at Doncaster last September but Desert Cop, who beat The X O at Newcastle, is having a first run on Turf.
