Verdict

A Listed winner last year, Nate The Great was a fair fifth in a very lucrative handicap at Riyadh at the start of the year but he was well behind stable companion Coltrane in the Lonsdale Cup at York last August. The latter surprisingly beat TRUESHAN in the Doncaster Cup last year only for the placings to be reversed in the Long Distance Cup here in October. Alan King’s classy stayer couldn’t get past Rajinsky at Nottingham three weeks ago but it will be a surprise if Hugo Palmer’s seven-year-old comes out on top again in this. Wise Eagle is a prolific winner but may be a little out of his depth in this company and Dubai Gold Cup fifth El Habeeb may still have something to prove over 2m.
