In depth

Verdict

Motcomb Jam can step up on his chasing debut and land this beginners' chase. Given plenty of time to get his jumping together at Plumpton, that experience can be out to good use here for this winning hurdler. Genuine Article was a decent hurdler but was running for the first time in 827 days when second at Plumpton on his chasing debut. He has had his problems and will probably not want the going to be too quick. Helixir du Theil stepped up on his chasing debut to finish second at Southwell last time but the form does not amount to a great deal. Mr Nemo has proven consistent but also does not appear to be anything out of the ordinary. Charlie Mann could well have found a good opening for Motcomb Jam, who gets our vote.
