Golden Alpha, Upgrade and Santenay catch our eye here with Golden Alpha getting the vote. Martin Pipe has not specified who would be riding his runners in this race but, despite carrying topweight, the selection had a progressive profile last year and ended it by winning at Aintree. Admittedly, he has been raised 13lbs for that success but could well have more to come. Upgrade needs no introduction and despite not being as reliable as he once was, goes well here and can spring the odd surprise. Santenay was a very good hurdler and, by connections' own admission, has been a little disappointing overall so far in his chasing career. However, the upside is that he could be well handicapped. Tamango. Hot Shots and Castle Prince add interest to the contest, although the last-named races from 10lbs out of the weights. Overall, then, we'll stick with Chicuelo.
