Albert's Back is fitted with cheekpieces having only gone down by a short-head at Wetherby last month. Thibault got back to winning ways at Fontwell 10 days ago but that’s earned him a penalty. Just The Man could go well at a price from the foot of the handicap and, off the same rating, Imperial Cup runner-up Lively Citizen is interesting. Faivoir is giving away lumps of weight but did finish four lengths ahead of Severance at Kelso and has done well since switching back to hurdles. Whizz Kid almost certainly has more to offer now handicapping but WASHINGTON (NAP) is preferred. His third at Warwick two runs ago is very decent form and he’s since enjoyed a confidence-booster at Southwell – the yard were very unlucky when saddling a similar type in this last year. Homme Public and Hacker Des Places have both been in good form but this is a better race that the one that Mandarin Monarch won at Navan and Richmond Lake was probably flattered by his proximity to Jonbon two runs ago.
