Another very difficult-looking handicap. Placed twice in this grade at Cheltenham this year, Spiritofthegames remains on a potentially-lenient mark. Senior Citizen was third in this last year and second to MAC TOTTIE in the Grand Sefton over these fences in November. He ran a nice prep race at Newbury last month and should be thereabouts again as long as there is no further rain but Sean Bowen’s mount would also have an excellent chance if back on song. Royal Rendezvous was in good form in the autumn and something must have been amiss with Palmers Hill at Ascot last time. Second to Grand National favourite Snow Leopardess at Bangor in October, Windsor Avenue won the Sky Bet at Doncaster in January but has also been pulled up twice this season. Sizing Pottsie had Notebook back in third when winning a Grade 2 at Navan last month but this trip could be beyond both of that pair. Nicky Henderson has a strong hand again and Mister Coffey is almost guaranteed to run his race if the fences don’t get in the way with the much-improved Fantastic Lady also respected. Tamaroc Du Mathan is another to consider as he’s a strong traveller who will probably be there at the sharp end.
