Wigan 0-0 Charlton: Stalemate at the DW
Friday 29 December 2017 22:47, UK
Sky Bet League One leaders Wigan were held to a goalless draw at home for the second time in four days as Charlton escaped with a point.
Karl Robinson's men had travelled north in the midst of an injury crisis, but will feel they deserved the result for the way they dug in and defended manfully.
On the flip side, Paul Cook will point to the almost total domination from his side, and skipper Sam Morsy hitting the inside of the post in stoppage time, but it ended 0-0 at the DW Stadium just as it did when Shrewsbury visited on Boxing Day.
The first half was a relatively dull affair, with Will Grigg heading just over for Wigan, before Nick Powell warmed the hands of goalkeeper Ben Amos shortly after.
For Charlton, Karlan Ahearne-Grant fired into the side-netting on the stroke of half-time, and the lively striker came even closer in the second half with two great chances.

First he rounded goalkeeper Christian Walton before seeing his shot superbly blocked by Dan Burn. Then, after a Wigan attack broke down, he raced clean through before firing an inch wide of the far post.
The home side were not looking as fluid as they have done for most of the season, although they almost sneaked all three points at the death. A corner from Lee Evans was cleared to Morsy 25 yards from goal, but the Egypt international saw his effort come back off the woodwork.
