Two second-half goals earned Walsall a vital 2-0 win in their survival fight and dealt a blow to Fleetwood's play-off bid.
Close-range finishes from Morgan Ferrier and Dan Scarr moved the Saddlers up to 16th and gave them back-to-back home league wins for the first time since August.
A dull first half yielded just two chances as home goalkeeper Liam Roberts tipped Wes Burns' 30-yard free-kick wide and Walsall's Joe Edwards whistled a first-time volley inches over from 20 yards.
The home side led in the 54th minute as poor Fleetwood defending from a George Dobson corner allowed Ferrier to nod home from almost on the goal-line.
Josh Gordon was denied by a fine block from Fleetwood keeper Alex Cairns before Walsall deservedly doubled their lead after 68 minutes.
Luke Leahy headed Liam Kinsella's deep ball back across goal and Scarr's close-range strike squirmed between Cairns' legs.
Fleetwood could have pulled one back late on but Ashley Eastham steered James Husband's inviting free-kick over from eight yards, They remain six points off the play-off places.
