Derek McInnes' return to McDiarmid Park proved to be an unhappy one as his Bristol City side lost 2-1 to St Johnstone on Saturday.
A first-half brace from trialist Rowan Vine was enough to secure the victory for the hosts. Jon Stead's header just before the interval proved no more than a consolation.
