West Brom require late-show to salvage a draw

West Brom were held to a 2-2 draw by gritty League Two outfit Shrewsbury. The Baggies were two goals down with just 16 minutes remaining, but late strikes from Do-Heon Kim and James Morrison ensured that they left with their dignity intact. A lacklustre first half saw neither keeper tested, with Neil Clement's 32nd minute free-kick, which came back off the post, the closest either side came to finding a breakthrough. However, it took only four minutes of the second half for the deadlock to be broken as Grant Holt bundled in an opener from close range. Things then got even worse for the Premier League side on 65 minutes as Ben Davies supplied the perfect cross for Holt to dispatch his second goal of the night through the legs of the stranded Dean Kiely. Tony Mowbray's side refused to buckle, though, and Kim handed them a lifeline with a 25-yard thunderbolt in the 74th minute. Another long-range effort, this time from Morrison, levelled the scores with seven minutes remaining as the winger fired home off the inside of the post. Michael Symes wasted a late opportunity to snatch a win for the hosts, but a draw was probably a fair result.
