Fleetwood surged up to third in Sky Bet League One after a comfortable 3-0 win at Shrewsbury.
The home side made a bright start with Sean Goss going close with a fine effort from close to the halfway line, which goalkeeper Alex Cairns did well to keep out.
Callum Lang then broke into the box and pulled the ball back to Ryan Giles but he fired over.
Jason Cummings was next to go close when Cairns was quickly off his line to block the striker's effort as he tried to lift it over the keeper.
Fleetwood found chances hard to come by before taking the lead in the 36th minute. Jimmy Dunne's header from a Paul Coutts corner hit the crossbar, with the ball bouncing down and going in off home striker Lang.
Fleetwood doubled their advantage after 56 minutes as Josh Morris turned home from close range after Lewie Coyle's inviting low cross from the right created the opportunity.
Substitute Paddy Madden added a third nine minutes from time when he hammered a fine volley high into the net for the high-flying visitors.
