Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Nottingham Forest: Lee inspires Owls comeback
Saturday 24 September 2016 18:28, UK
Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 with Kieran Lee scoring a stoppage-time winner.
Lee was already the hero after earlier cancelling out Henri Lansbury's first-half opener which looked like rescuing a point for the South Yorkshire side.
But there was even more to celebrate when he secured three points for Wednesday with a close-range effort.
Wednesday started brightly with full-back Jack Hunt made a good attacking run, bursting into the right-hand side of the penalty area before delivering a low cross which was cleared by Michael Mancienne.
The first effort on goal came shortly afterwards when Wednesday's Ross Wallace fired in an effort from distance which was palmed wide by keeper Vladimir Stojkovic.

Wallace then set up a chance for Gary Hooper, finding him in space inside the area, but the striker shot wide of Stojkovic's right-hand post.
Apostolos Vellios, recalled to the Forest attack, put a first-time effort well over and Mustapha Carayol had a shot blocked.
In between those two chances, the hosts continued to press and Stojkovic was forced to pull off a good save after Steven Fletcher chested the ball down and volleyed on target.
Lee had a shot deflected off-target and there was another let-off for the visitors when Hooper's header was saved by Stojkovic and Forestieri looked set to pounce on the loose ball before it was hacked clear.
Lansbury gave Forest the lead against the run of play in the 35th minute when he beat Keiren Westwood, with the aid of a deflection, from 30 yards out.
Vellios threatened to add a second moments later when his firm shot was saved by Westwood.
Wednesday again started the second half the better of the two sides as they went in search of an equaliser.
Hunt laid the ball off to Hooper who saw his effort deflected over.
Forestieri combined well with Fletcher whose low cross across the six-yard box was missed by Hooper.
Forest then enjoyed a good spell and Vellios went close to scoring when his glancing header from an Eric Lichaj cross forced Westwood to get down to his left to turn the ball round the post.
Jorge Grant had a shot deflected over and Matt Mills directed a header on target which was comfortably saved by Westwood.
The equaliser came in the 68th minute when Wallace delivered a right-wing corner which was met by a far post header from Lee.
Fletcher headed wide and Forestieri had an effort deflected wide while Hunt saw his drive saved by Stojkovic with Almen Abdi putting the follow up straight at the keeper.
Forest skipper Chris Cohen also came to his side's rescue when he headed off the line after Wallace chipped Stojkovic.
At the other end, Westwood comfortably dealt with a header from Mills late on.
With normal time up, Lee scored the winner from close range after receiving the ball from Fletcher.
