Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 Bristol City: Owls come back to win thriller
Wednesday 14 September 2016 11:14, UK
Sheffield Wednesday came from 2-0 down at home to Bristol City to win 3-2 with Kieran Lee scoring a stoppage-time winner in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday.
In a game which saw both teams play with 10 men for the final half an hour, prolific teenage striker Tammy Abraham scored twice to give the visitors a two-goal lead at the interval but goals from Steven Fletcher, Barry Bannan and Lee handed Wednesday victory.
The hosts had Sam Hutchinson sent-off and City's Gary O'Neil was also dismissed, while Lee Tomlin missed a penalty for the visitors.
The kick-off was delayed for 15 minutes after a heavy downpour left surface water on the pitch.
It took 17 minutes for the first chance of the night to arrive, which came when Tomlin fired in a 20-yard shot which was deflected narrowly wide.

The resulting corner, taken by O'Neil, was met by Aden Flint whose looping header was tipped over by Keiren Westwood.
Adam Reach, who was making his full Wednesday debut after signing from Middlesbrough, tried an effort from distance which went well wide. Fletcher then shot off-target from inside the area.
Abraham (33) put the visitors ahead when he planted a firm header beyond Westwood after meeting O'Neil's cross.
Abraham found the net again six minutes later, following up to head into the unguarded net after Westwood saved Josh Brownhill's shot.
Fernando Forestieri came on as a replacement for Daniel Pudil just before half-time. A second change was made to the Wednesday line-up at the start of the second half when Ross Wallace was introduced as a replacement for David Jones.
Fletcher made a strong run into the area and saw his angled shot turned wide by Richard O'Donnell.
From the resulting corner, Fletcher (52) reduced the arrears when he scored after getting on the end of Forestieri's delivery.
The goal lifted Wednesday and Forestieri had a low shot saved by O'Donnell.
The visitors had a chance to restore their two-goal advantage, however, when they were awarded a penalty on the hour-mark after Sam Hutchinson's foul on Marlon Pack, which also resulted in the Wednesday player being sent-off.
Tomlin stepped up to take the penalty, but his effort came back off Westwood's right-hand post.
With the ball still in play, Wednesday looked to break, but Hooper was scythed down by O'Neil (61), who promptly received a red card.
Bannan struck a 75th-minute equaliser with a fine 30-yard effort which O'Donnell got his hands to, but could only help into the net.
With seconds to go, Lee received the ball inside the area and side-stepped a challenge before slotting the ball past O'Donnell.
