Sevilla produced a storming comeback to end Real Madrid's unbeaten start to the season as they won 3-2 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in La Liga on Sunday.

Sergio Ramos gave Real a deserved 22nd-minute lead with a fine overhead kick but Ciro Immobile equalised on 36 minutes with his first goal for Sevilla.

Ever Banega then put the hosts ahead in the 61st minute before substitute Fernando Llorente headed in a third on 74.

James Rodriguez scored a consolation with the last kick of the match, but defeat means Real are three points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona heading into El Clasico on November 21.

It looked as though Rafa Benitez's side would match Barca's 3-0 victory over Villarreal earlier in the day as they made a bright start at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Nacho struck the post in the 10th minute with a well-struck half volley while Gareth Bale, back in the starting line-up after injury, looked threatening in a central role.

The visitors deservedly went ahead midway through the half when Ramos scored with a brilliant overhead kick from a corner.

Sergio Ramos opened the scoring for Real Madrid at his old club Sevilla with a stunning overhead kick

Bale went close to adding to Real's advantage as he saw a couple of shots saved by Sergio Rico, before Sevilla levelled in the 36th minute.

Yevhen Konoplyanka's corner evaded everyone in the box and Immobile fired home from an acute angle at the back post.

The striker, who was booked for taking his shirt off while celebrating, should have put his side in front just five minutes later but side-footed wide of the near post.

However, Immobile did play a part in the move which lead to Sevilla finally taking the lead on the hour mark, playing a one-two with the lively Konoplyanka in the area, allowing the Ukrainian to pull the ball back for Banega to smash home.

Sevilla's lead was deserved but it was also fragile, preserved only by a wonderful save by Rico, who got down low to stop Casemiro's header from a corner.

Sevilla then went straight down the other end to kill the game off, Llorente ghosting in ahead of a sleepy Madrid defence to nod in Mariano's cross.

The visitors managed to pull a goal back in stoppage time through Rodriguez's low finish, but the points already belonged to Sevilla.
