Danny Rowe's first goal since joining Oldham earned his side a 1-1 draw at Greater Manchester rivals Salford.
Rowe latched on to substitute Zak Dearnley's through ball before smashing home clinically from 15 yards with seven minutes left.
Salford struck after 15 minutes when Tom Hamer dragged back Adam Rooney in the box, and although Zeus De La Paz saved the striker's penalty, the loose ball was eventually bundled home from close range by Brandon Thomas-Asante.
Oldham attempted a swift response with Hamer meeting a smart Jonny Smith cross but headed narrowly off target.
Just past the half-hour mark, Oldham striker Desire Segbe-Azankpo saw a low drive well saved by Kyle Letheren.
At the other end, Michael O'Connor fizzed a shot wide from 20 yards for the visitors.
Soon after the restart, Oldham went close when Smith's angled strike was beaten away by Letheren.
Salford almost made it 2-0 when substitute Craig Conway forced De La Paz into a brave save before Rowe went on to earn Oldham a point.
