Rangers 1-0 Livingston: Clark sends Gers into semis
Tuesday 20 October 2015 23:54, UK
Rangers are through to the Petrofac Training Cup semi-finals after Nicky Clark's second-half winner sent holders Livingston out of this year's competition.
Livingston frustrated the hosts for large periods, but their resistance was finally broken 15 minutes from time when Clark's 30-yard drive found the corner of the net.
Mark Warburton's side now face St Mirren in a home semi-final.
Livingston lost 3-0 on their previous visit to Ibrox, so perhaps this was on head coach Mark Burchill's mind as his players adopted a cautious approach.
Livingston's Kieran Gibbons was perhaps fortunate not to pick up a card when he rattled into Nathan Oduwa early on. The on-loan Tottenham winger lasted until half-time before being replaced.

James Tavernier almost broke the deadlock 15 minutes in, but he saw his goal-bound header cleared off the line by Ben Gordon.
Despite Rangers dominating possession, they struggled to create too many clear-cut chances before the half was out.
Andy Halliday volleyed straight at Marc McCallum as Oduwa lay prone on the floor - this time thanks to a strong aerial challenge from Hugo Faria. While Nicky Law fired over after good work by Oduwa as the half came to a close.
Into the second half, and Clark should have done better after Law's initial effort was saved. He fired the rebound over with the goal at his mercy as frustrations in the home crowd grew.
However, with 15 minutes remaining, Lee Wallace found Clark, and he squeezed a low shot from outside the box past McCallum.
Clark should have at least tested McCallum one more time in the closing stages, but his firm header went well wide.
